The curriculum is delivered through child-initiated and teacher-led activities.
There are seven areas of learning that shape the educational programmes based on the British Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
3 Prime Areas of Learning
The prime areas of learning are the areas most essential for your child’s healthy development and learning. These includes:
Physical Development: where they can develop their co-ordination, control and movement. They learn how to make healthy choices in relation to food.
Communication and Language: in this area they learn communication, speaking and listening skills.
Personal, Social and Emotional Development
As your child grows, we ensure that the prime areas will help them to develop skills in 4 specific areas of learning.
4 Specific Areas of Learning
Literacy
Children are given wide range of books and reading materials that helps to develop their skills and interests within this area.
Mathematics
Children learn counting, measurement, sorting, matching, shape, space, patterns, making connections and appropriate mathematical operations
Understanding the world
In this specific area, children develop skills, knowledge and make connections with their environment. This forms the foundation for later work in science, design, technology, geography, history and ICT.
Expressive Art and Design
Using creative art, music, dance, role play and drama children learn to make connections between different things and people.
Hats-On Is our Very own Stream Approach to Education
Our teaching philosophy is based on Hats-ON learning which involves hands-on activities in a thematic way that uses sensory application towards all-round development.
It is designed to meet the individual needs of children from different age groups. Hats-on help to nurtures not only academic skills but also social and emotional development.
What is Hats-On Learning?
Hats-On learning lies at the heart of our teaching methodology. Its focus is on the overall growth and development of the child. Hats-On facilitates learning in all spheres of life and begins at an early age. The pre-academic focus is on developing basic literacy and numeracy through naturalistic daily activities such as interacting with nature and developing the foundations of reading, writing and phonological skills.
Tender Hats-On approach is where children learn how to use their senses on various activities that integrate all learning areas of the curriculum within a theme. It allows learning to be more natural, fun and children to live in a world of cognitive flexibility.
In a world where STREAM skills (Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, Math) are more in need in the global economy, our Hats-on approach allows children to build these skills and ensure strong school readiness.
HATS-ON (hands-on, thematic way and sensory application) is an experience-based learning model that extends the British EYFS curriculum by focusing on the senses and children’s emerging interests which sparks their attention, imagination and creativity. The approach employs a language-rich curriculum such as interactive circle time to enable children develop their expression skills.
Hats-On approach place a high priority on physical development both in the outdoor and classroom activities which develops children’s movement skills. It also, encompasses our Education in Human Values where children share in each other’s customs thereby promote healthy social interaction with other.
